I agree that sadly, the next Notre Dame coach is also likely to be an ex-Cincinnati coach.
I have to say that I am a bit surprised by Kelley to LSU. He has a good chance of going to the playoffs *this year* at Notre Dame, and has the advantage of Notre Dame’s national reputation and their cupcake scheduling (of which, unfortunately, we are a contributor). At LSU he will have games against Alabama every year. I mean, I get the OMG SEC and their eight game conference schedule is a bit overrated, but his path to the playoffs will be much harder than at ND.
In the short term, a little bit of chaos in one of our rivals is a good thing.
