This weeks AP Poll just came out. Stanford maintains its #4 ranking, three other PAC-12 teams maintain their top twenty-five status, and three PAC-12 teams received points, but little status. Arizona, at #6, continues to climb in the rankings.

Oh yeah, there is a big possibility that current #6 Arizona will climb past current #4 Stanford in the AP Polls, given their respective upcoming remaining OOC schedule prior to the start of PAC 12 play:

Arizona:

12/09  vs. North Dakota State
12/12  vs. New Mexico
12/17  @  North Arizona
12/19  vs. #11 Texas

Stanford:
*******
12/12  vs. Pacific
12/15  vs. UC Davis
12/18  @  #9 Tennessee
12/21  @  #1 South Carolina 

Unlike Stanford, I think Arizona has the guard play to easily break Texas defensive pressure, and they even have a more suffocating defensive pressure to counteract Texas' offense. It will be a tight battle, but I see Arizona prevailing by a squeaker, and coming out of their OOC schedule with a clean 11-0 slate.

Meanwhile, I have already penciled Stanford losing to South Carolina in two weeks, something that the Gamecocks really are salivating to win after the bitter taste of their heartbreaking loss to the Cardinal in last season's Final Four.  I don't know how Stanford will match up against Tennessee, but I hope Stanford can come out the winner in that game, and have a 3-1 W/L result over the next two weeks prior to Pac 12 play, for a final OOC record of 8-3.

As for the rest of the PAC 12 teams, except for Colorado with its relatively cupcake schedule, the rest of the projected upper echelon teams including Oregon, Oregon State and UCLA has had disappointing results. In the case of Oregon and UCLA, it's unfortunately due to injuries to their major players - Oregon with PAOPAO, ROGERS and SABALLY; UCLA with BESSOIR (who is lost for the season), DUGALIC and projected starting PG Gina CONTI.
