From other posts I've seen there when violations come up, I believe the rule against speculation is because speculation can turn into rumor and run rampant, plus it can get back to players and their families and cause offense.
Great reminder and a great set of rules. I agree that we should not speculate on transfers.
Don't you all really mean that the entire subject of Stanford transfers out should be off limits?
I mean, what if it's a fact that Player X parent said to Poster Y here that "My kid is unhappy at Stanford and looking elsewhere." Relaying that conversation is not speculation; however, it's on a topic that is sensitive and a hot button issue for many folks here. So perhaps the better rule is to just not comment on transfer outs until things like "so and so has entered the transfer portal" actually happens.
BTW, and to remove any doubt, I did not have any conversation with a player parent along the lines of hypothetical above.
