I don't really know what happens if you have a color profile that causes gamma adjustment to occur. The fix we made was to have the logo specify the same 24-bit RGB color as the bars and not specify a gamma or chromaticity value. On my default Linux setup with either Firefox or Chrome, both are displayed as exactly the specified RGB value #8c1515 that https://identity.stanford.edu/design-ele...ry-colors/ says to use.
If there is still gamma adjustment or other color correction in other setups, hopefully at least the logo and bar colors don't diverge.
