It seems silly (i.e., self-serving hypocrisy) to say the schools cannot pay players, but it's perfectly fine for them to arrange a million dollar endorsement at a local used car lot. They are all hand-picked ringers these days, so unless you change the recruiting system, you might as well pay them. How about a new rule: no NIL, no pay, and schools can only recruit within 500 miles of their campus.
