We are so lucky to have the Hulls. Absolute ballers and what a night from Lexie.
A tip of the hat to Belibi and Iriafen for their inspired post play. Brink was uneven again but sometimes I wonder if we expect too much from her at this point. I just wish she would shoot ten thousand FTs in the off-season.
Jones started slow, not too engaged as we tried to figure out their zone, then warmed up some, but after that hit to the head she didn't seem quite the same. At least 3 turnovers down the stretch. Not always a great decision-maker, but she is the one I want on the foul line when we're in the bonus and the other team needs to foul.
Wilson was solid too, very much in the flow. What a great TD pass she made! Between her and Lacie I have no worries about PG.
When this team is in the right flow, it plays beautiful basketball. I thought the team D in the first half was super, getting better all the time. We really have quickness now, and that wasn't always so. I thought TVD did a great job managing the rotation. It just felt right.
Yeah, it was a nailbiter until Lexie hit the dagger at 1:32 to put us up by 10. But don't forget that Oregon is a good team with solid starters and that they have some excellent players in Rogers and Sabally. Paopao was wild tonight and the announcers kept making excuses for her, but she had a step on her defender every time. And don't forget our big halftime lead was mainly due to great 3-pt shooting and the Lexie show. Next time we see them I think it will be a lot closer.
