Digressing slightly off-topic from current news and slightly random, does anyone remember when women's college basketball switched to four 10-minute quarters rather than two 20-minute halves a few years ago, what was the impetus behind that change?

Thanks! Has it really "enhanced the flow of the game" though? And wondering why men's college bball hasn't adopted it
