Utah is 27th according to Massey's computer algorithm, 21st according to the NET, giving it the clear 4th best rating in the Pac 12 after us, Oregon, and Arizona--and at this point is a significantly better team than Oregon State. They are 14-7 overall, 5-4 in the Pac 12. They played Oregon within 4 and lost in overtime to Colorado or they would look even better. They are one of the best offensive teams in the country and one of the best three point shooting teams in the country.

It was a game we could easily have lost. We turned the ball over a lot early in the game, we seemed slow to adjust to defending the three point line, and Utah had a 37-30 half time lead. Even though we exploded for 30 in the 3rd, Utah still had a 63-60 lead after the 3rd quarter. Our defense finally locked down in the 4th, but we couldn't get the lead until 5:42 left in the game. We were behind for about 7/8 of the game.
Since we beat Utah at their place Utah has gone 5-3 and has won their last 4 in a row. They are on a roll. In their last game against USC, Kennedy McQueen went 6/7 from three point range for them. 7 different Utah players made treys in that game. In the previous game against WSU, it was Gianna Kneepkens who went 3/5. Basically, nearly everyone for Utah shoots the 3 and different players get hot on different nights. In our last game against them, Utah made 11 treys out of 28 attempts--more than half of their attempts were from beyond the arc.
Hopefully playing at sea level and having played Utah before will help us perform better than we did on the road against them. If Utah's shooting gets hot and we have an off night--then there could be more suspense about the outcome than we would like.
