I did not watch or listen to the game, but the box score says that Stanford committed four errors and three of UT-San Antonio's six runs, including the walk-off, were unearned.
So this looks like a case of Stanford playing below the level of its opponent. Too bad, because all-in-all this was a very good roadie to Texas.
I think you're right about them playing down to the level of their competition. It didn't help that five of Stanford's starters were getting the day off.
