It has occurred to me that two things may be happening in Giants land:

1. Farhan is legitimately seeing this as a year where he thinks the best reinforcements are coming from prospects.

2. They have figured out that the best plan is to stay in contention until they can pick up a couple of really good rent-a-players at the deadline; maybe with luck, they get someone where they have team control for 2022-23. It's possible that this approach gets you a better player and ends up being cheaper because you are capitalizing on some tanking team's misfortune.
