Losing decidedly up front is what has them in the doldrums.  So, I believe Stanford will not recover until the lines improve dramatically.

Totally agree. Stanford can't overcome a bad OL with good running backs, a good QB and good receivers. They can be better than 3-9, but getting to even 0.500 with a bad OL and a bad DL is tough. In the many years where Stanford was all offense, no defense it was proven that without a DL, even if you can score scads of points, you aren't going anyplace. This is an attribute of the game and immutable.
