Upon a rereading of your comments re: first selections, I’ll withdraw my observation re: Elway/Manning.
The only thing I would add is that, yes, I believe Lynch/Shanahan had the smoke machine on overdrive re: Jones. I do think that Lance was their guy as soon as they had a chance to complete their due diligence regarding him. Because they were third in the batting order, I think they might have been concerned about the Jets (despite NY’s public love affair with Wilson).
Lastly, no harm, no foul. Quite frankly, I have reconsidered long held opinions on a number of topics due to thoughtful responses posted here. This site is the best for intelligent repartee about Stanford athletics and our local pro teams.
