Suspect we’ll see Mathews start. That’s a good thing.
Wrong again. Uber started, lasted 1+ innings and yielding 3 runs. Dowd replaced him, turning in 3.1 innings of 3 hit ball. Mathews nailed it dows for the last 4.2, only hitting a rough patch in the 7th, giving up two runs.
USC’s lead was ahort as Stanford put up 4 in bottom 1 — on one hit. Dowd gets the W. Hightlight of the game for me: in the 4th after Jones was hbp to load the bases, Graham launched a shot onto the left field trees. Team put up 6 in that inning and never looked back. Outright win of the Pac-12 championship and number one seed for the tournament. Game will start 12:30 - 1:00 Wednesday May 25. Opponent tbd as of this message.
Fun season so far. Let’s hope they win their last game of the year.
