follow-up on BC's post:  Shane Warne, Cricket Legend, Dies at 52 - The New York Times (nytimes.com)

Warne was a colorful character (which is understating it a bit).  Brilliant leg bowler, but also, he’d (allegedly) give Maradona a run for his cocaine money.  Briefly dated/was engaged to Elizabeth Hurley.

I got to see him once when the West Indies were in Australia for a test match.  I had no idea who he was, not being much of a cricket fan.  Still, the guy was a brilliant bowler.
