The Stanford announcement that five players made the all-conference "first team" is a little iffy. 
There wasn't an all-conference first team and second team. There was a single all-conference team that had 35 players: 10 pitchers and 25 position players. 

The biggest robbery was Quinn Matthews (who did get honorable mention). 
The third best ERA in the conference, tied for the second most wins, tied for the best winning percentage (both ties with Alex Williams), the sixth most innings pitched, tied for sixth most saves (despite not being in the bullpen until halfway through the season), the second most saves plus wins. 
Hard to figure out how he wasn't one of the best 10 pitchers in the league.

The all-defensive team would be tough to hit against - particularly seeing as it has 5 infielders; otherwise matches a real team with a catcher, a pitcher, and 3 outfielders.

Also of note; six true frosh made the all-conference team but NOT freshman of the year Braden Montgomery. [And it's not that the big award winners weren't eligible, Williams (pitcher of the year) and Melton (player of the year) were on the all-conference team.]
Defensive player of the year Adam Crampton also didn't make either the all-conference team or honorable mention. That shows how much defense is valued.
