I think it just depends on whether someone starts a new thread or not.  Some people are into starting new threads, others will build on an already extant thread.  I will note that softball is not unique here; both baseball and womens volleyball have season-long threads.

I wouldn’t read into it disinterest in the team.  I think it just reflects the posters’ preferences.
