Stanford vs Texas State tomorrow night. See you there.

Texas State's likely starting pitcher today is Levi Wells. Stanford has seen him before. Last year he was on Texas Tech. In game one of the super regional he came out of the bull pen. He came in in the seventh inning with  no outs and the bases loaded. Gave up double (Huff), single (Robinson), single (Brueser), double play (Bowser), strike out (Troy). Five runs in, two charged to Wells. 

Wells has played a ton more this year than last, presumably why he transferred. Nevertheless, I hope he has some bad flashbacks this evening.

Pancer was terrific today.

Pancer has been pretty good lately. Unlike much of our bullpen, Pancer doesn't walk many but occasionally gets hit pretty hard. He's given up the most HRs but fewest walks (per inning pitched) on the staff. I guess that matches this outing - no walks, one HR in three innings.

I think he should have been given the win yesterday. If the starter doesn't make it through five innings, the win is supposed to go to the reliever that "contributes most to the win". However, in practice it's pretty common to give the win to the first reliever. In this case it was O'Rourke who did not have a good outing - 1 inning pitched, 2 hits, 2 hit batters, 2 earned runs, and 1 inherited runner scored.
