Well, at least we have some experience cobbling together a game out of a random assortment of pitchers.  I just hope we have some left.

This is where losing game #2 really hurts. The pitching staff is stretched. No obviously good options available, and I suspect we'll see around 7 guys pitch. That probably means who starts doesn't mean much. 

Guys we're likely to see, but most for no more than an inning:
Dixon. Threw 75pitches vs. Binghamton and didn't pitch particularly well. But has had two days rest and the staff trusts him.
Dowd(?). only threw 51 pitches yesterday and was fairly effective. Texas State hasn't seen him. 
O'Rourke. Threw 29 pitches vs. Binghamton. Didn't pitch well but has had two days rest. 
Jensen (no regional appearance), Fleischli, Meier all fresh. 
I thought Pancer was looking tired at the end yesterday. He's thrown 77 pitches over Fri/Sun so perhaps not. 
Bruno a likely late inning appearance.
Williams for a late inning appearance.

[I am worried about Williams. His last two appearances were rough - by his standards. His changeup was hanging and his fastball was left out arm-side - which was a real problem versus right handers as the outside pitches became midplate meatballs and inside pitches hit guys. I hope he isn't just worn out.] 

A wild card is Montgomery. Has great stuff but has also had major control issues. I get the sense that the staff doesn't want to put him into such a pressure situation as a pitcher (particularly because they want to keep his bat effective), but he hasn't given up a hit or a run in his last 4 appearances and should have a fresh arm. 


Meanwhile, Texas State seems to have several options. 
Wood, their #1 guy, threw 105 pitches on Friday but has had two days rest. I am guessing he starts. 
Their only reliever who threw many pitches is Smith (66 over Fri/Sun). So, basically all available. 
They have two relatively frequent starters who haven't seen any action yet (Bush, Sundgren), but both have ERAs over 7. Sundgren hasn't appeared in over a month so may not be healthy. 

Hoping Stanford's bats are alive tonight, and we don't need 2 hits for every run scored.
