Statistical comparison Stanford vs. UConn

I continue to be annoyed that baseball lists things like homeruns, strike outs, etc. etc. as totals on the season - regardless of number of games played. It doesn't make a comparison meaningful. 
In this case, another thing that makes comparison difficult is that the competition varied drastically. The Big East is not a very good baseball conference, the Pac 12 is. 

There are some interesting bits there, nonetheless. 

UConn ranks relatively much higher in fly outs than ground outs, i.e. they get a lot of their outs by fly balls. 
Maybe that's a good sign, because Stanford makes a lot of fly balls home runs. [Though night games at sunken diamonds make that more difficult.]

Perhaps related, UConn has allowed a relatively high number of home runs for a superregional team in a weak conference. Stanford allowed very few - at least until they allowed a season high 3 in the first game against Texas State. 

Stanford's biggest pitching problem is that they walk too many guys - that's clear from those stats. 

Both teams offenses are more power hitting than steady hitter/on-base types. Stanford more so.
