I don’t get caught up in all-time rankings, GOAT and stuff like that. Tend to think it’s kind of silly. You can’t compare eras. Also in hoops you have old fashioned centers who are in a different category. You can’t truly compare, for example, Jordan and Kareem. But I did find this to be interesting: 7 players have won 4 Championships and 2 MVP’s- James, Duncan, Kareem, Magic, Jordan, Russell and now Curry. 6 of the 7 won Finals MVP at least once. Only Russell did not. But that’s because they didn’t have the award that now bears his name until his last Finals.
And no one I’ve ever seen is more fun to watch than Curry.
No one said it, but for Curry, Klay and Draymond, I think this meant “more” cause they did it without Durant. This was not a manufactured “Super-Team”. This was an old fashioned organizational win, led by the three that have been there throughout.
Finally, Curry’s emotional reaction was, I think, part joy, part exhaustion. Reminded me of Busters hug of MadBum in 2014. Which certainly was part exhaustion.
How lucky we’ve been this last decade plus to have these franchises obtain the success they have, both led by tremendous players, leaders, teammates and from everything I’ve read and heard, even better people. Steph and Buster. What a show.
