There are dozens of reasons a recruit won't pick Stanford that have the middle of a donut to do with any vaccination requirements. And there are even more for Football and MBB recruits.
I can assure you the drop in competitiveness on the field and court are the biggest objections by far raised by "the pool." Then, navigating NIL, and now the uncertainty of the Pac and Stanford's conference alignment and relevance, come way before anything else. Any Stanford Covid vaccination requirement is so far down the list of reasons "the pool" is now smaller, that I can't even believe anyone would make such a claim.
It's akin to complaining about the color of the drapes when the whole house is on fire.
Stanford Football is a dinosaur of a program right now. It's lost its relevance in a shockingly fast period. Whether it's all on David Shaw, Stanford itself, or a combination of both hardly matters. All the bloom is off all the Roses the program recently had.
