The Warriors got a bargain with DiVincenzo, and are paying him half what Payton got from the Blazers.
Looney might have been a bit overpaid, but I guess the Warriors didn't feel confident enough in Wiseman to let Looney walk.
The most interesting decision to me was letting Porter walk when he got the mini-mid-level exception.
Considering how much Porter contributed this year, that number seemed like it would have been quite doable for the Warriors.
I think this shows one (or both) of two things:
(1) The Warriors are confident of what they have in Kuminga. The summer league performances so far back that up. He's continuing his strong pre-playoff play, and maybe we have to ignore the lack of earned playoff minutes. Porter is a vet and plays strong defense, so he got the minutes, but maybe Kuminga is close enough that there was no need to pay Porter.
(2) The Warriors really do have plans to extend both Wiggins and Poole. That would be interesting. As noted, even after letting Porter and Payton walk, extending Wiggins and Poole will put the Warriors into unprecedented luxury tax range. Like $450 million for their 2023-2024 roster.
