It's not possible for the pre-season exhibitions to be any more meaningless. Kyle Shanahan made clear he'd rather not play the games and just have joint practices instead. That mentality can't help but seep into the heads of the players expected to be the big producers. You can't get a worse exhibition of football than this:
1. Most starters are held out
2. The ones who play know it is meaningless, and have heard the head coach say as much
3. There are some guys on the field who know they will make the team while others are giving it their all to make it
4. No game planning, no intensity, no consequences for W or L
It's simply an awful product not worth watching. I have seen a grand total of about 3/4 of a single pre-season game this month, among all the games played, and most of that was Packers-Niners. None of the Vikings. None of the Texans. No other team either.
It seems logical to assume the interior OL will be the weakest link on the team, and we don't know how Lance will perform in the offense on schedule or off schedule. Lots of unknowns, but seemingly a lot of upside as they all gain experience.
