Careful about the use of the word “friends.”
It’s funny about knowledge of things. I thought I knew all about politics doing hundreds of national stories and traveling with McGovern, Shriver and Carter. Nowadays I am clueless about the bozos who run and confused over and over.
To really know about baseball I believe that you need to have played the game above high school. I played in college and in high semipro for years and covered 27 World Series. However I learn something new every time I watch a game, especially a minor league game, and especially how present day front office operate and I am far from knowing everything.
I’m all for opinions whether educated or not but except for people who work at a game 365 days a year you don’t know, you just don’t.
As Coach Madden said in more than one interview I shot of him, “That’s why they play the game.”
So I say only to myself you just have to know when to STFU.
