JG was going to get over 7 million if released.  To me this says three things:

1.  Lance has not progressed as they hoped.  Because by having JG on the roster, he’s going to be looking over his shoulder.  

2.  They got no offers for JG.  Not surprising with injury.

3 They know o-line sucks.

4. They knew someone, perhaps Seattle, would pick him up if they released him. Zero compensation . . . .
