Heard this morning from Ian Rappaport, that the play was a RPO, and Lance obviously chose to run. He also mentioned that Lance was a running QB when they drafted him, so that's the type of play he was expected to play. . . .But nevertheless, the Oracle has spoken.

Didn't I hear somewhere of the brilliance of Shaw's new RPO offense? Is McKee destined for the same?

Lance suffers from playing very little over the last few years, and not having substantive major college experience...he was injured last year, now injured again, but worse.

I really don't  want to see either McKee or Lance injured. To me, the magic of mobile quarterbacks is their ability to escape trouble rather than run for brobdingnagian chunks of yardage. My memory of Montana was that he was slippery, rarely running for long gains, but he avoided sacks pretty well.  His sack percentage was 5.5%, compared with Steve Young who had a higher sack percentage (around 7.4% for the Niners, if memory serves).
