The 49ers’ main concerns have been rooted on the interior, where they’re fielding three new starters: left guard Aaron Banks, center Jake Brendel and right guard Spencer Burford. But that’s set up the early plot twist: Through two games, the rookie Burford and Banks are actually the 49ers’ two highest-graded offensive linemen, per Pro Football Focus.

What’s more, the two have been particularly good in pass protection — traditionally the 49ers’ weakness with run-focused fronts under coach Kyle Shanahan. Burford and Banks are both graded among the NFL’s top seven guards in pass blocking.


I don't know how much stock to put into PFF, but it is a credible source for most people, and this does track to what I have seen in games and what the video I posted highlights.
