If he can stay healthy, it's a great deal.

A big IF.  I don’t like the deal but I understand the thinking behind it - the 49ers are pushing all their chips to the middle of the table betting they can win it all at some point within this particular window of opportunity.

I think he has a much better chance of staying healthy when he is not the only offensive threat on the field. He also doesn't have to play absolutely every down. The niners are not the panthers.
