I wouldn’t draw too many conclusions (good or bad) on Lepolo from a single game against an overmatched opponent. The key will be how she responds to teams daring her to shoot. As chimera notes, there is nothing wrong with a pass-first point guard; given our weapons it is probably what we are looking for, as getting the ball to our high efficiency offensive threats in a position to score is good, actually. The issue, which we couldn’t evaluate in this game is if Lepolo becomes so gun shy that opponents key in our scorers when she has the ball. Time will tell, as they say.

You know who else was loose and lanky on the floor? Kate Starbird. Turned into one hell of a player.

She looks so loose and lanky but she does defend reasonably well and can be a pest with her length. If she can hit threes like she has been, look out. Tara has to get her out there even with such a deep team.
