At the risk of people assuming the unhinged notion I think I know more than Steve Kerr...

Spurs 95 Warriors 132 demonstrated why I think Jordan Poole should be starting and Klay Thompson should come off the bench.

Steve Kerr says the Warriors have a great rating with Thompson starting, but that begs the question of how they would perform with Poole starting instead.  Isn't it possible that they could perform as well or close with Poole starting and Thompson off bench?

Kerr may be right that Klay should start, but the cocksureness with which he said it after the game last night seems a little too close-minded to me.  The second unit needs better defense and Thompson provides it better than Poole does. At the same time, Poole seems to score more when he starts games. So what you lose in defense from Thompson you gain in offense from Poole, particularly getting to the foul line, which should allow the W's to get in the penalty in quarters sooner.

I wonder if Klay would be open to being a 6th man. My perception is he sees himself as a starter and his ego really isn't equipped to handle being moved to the bench. It almost seems like starting allows him to have confidence that he hasn't lost much from his injuries. Anyway, it just seems odd to foreclose on the idea of Poole starting and Thompson coming off the bench without giving it a try.

As for Wiseman, I was very pleased to learn he is going to Santa Cruz. He needs to play and play a lot.  

Really mature comments from Kuminga last night too. He understands and doesn't seem to be bothered by his yo -yo playing time even though he'd like to play more.

Whether Poole or Klay starts is not a big issue.  Look at minutes and who is on the floor at end of close games.

I think one reason Poole comes off bench is that he can create.  Klay cannot at this point.  So, Poole with the second team gives them more scoring options than Klay would with the same group.

Warriors defense is the issue.  Particularly easy points. Transitions and FTs.
