I also am very appreciative of Shaw's contributions to Stanford as a student, athlete, assistant, and ultimately HC.  I was thrilled when we hired him and truly reveled in the good years.   Even after a couple of bad years I felt he would turn things around, which proved not to be.  I do think in the last few years he was playing checkers when we needed him to be playing chess.  All the best to him going forward, and all the best for all associated with STanford football going forward!
