One potentially interesting note is that now Shaw is no longer in the mix, Wilcox of Cal is the second longest tenured (since 2017) PAC-12 coach. Obviously Whittingham of Utah is the longest tenured (since 2005). Chip Kelly and Jonathan Smith both arrived in 2018 Longevity in the PAC-12 just isn't a "thing" these days.

Wouldn't surprise me one bit if Wilcox were shown the door by the end of this week.

easy, UCLA will need to come up with the $25 million if they want to go to the Big10 that bad.

There are those on the Cal sites that have suggested that. However, given that UCLA Athletics is in dire financial straits already, and given that Cal's situation is not lots better, any money they (actually the Regents) extract from UCLA is needed just to keep the program afloat. UCLA also doesn't have a new revenue stream until next year anyway. The consensus seems to be that possibly next year, or certainly the year after, Cal could maybe consider a buyout. Still lots of money that probably would have to come from boosters. Most of all, not happening this week.
