Also, not all Saban hires were takes, which I suppose is to be expected when you have a coaching tree with as many branches as Saban does.  But for every Kirby Smart, there is a Steve Sarkisian.

I suspect that you would have to evaluate each member of Harbaugh's staff on his own merits and decide whether he is capable of being successful at Stanford.  I agree that "hire Harbaugh's assistants" in the hope that some of his magic rubs off on them, as a blanket statement, is not a greta heuristic, though their success merits a look.
