Card certainly is the obvious choice but he's also the obvious choice for Notre Dame, Oklahoma State, Kentucky, TCU, etc.

I'm sure he's a good football player and student, but I'm not thinking beyond the play on words. I would love to see Card leading the Cardinal to victory, or a million other tongue-twisters.   

For some reason, we didn't even offer him out of HS in 2020, even though he made the Academic All-State list (and now made the Academic All-Big 12 First Team).  We had Patu enrolling early in Spring 2021, and I guess that was enough for us?

That said, I'm not as down on Patu as some are.  I'm keeping an open mind because we really haven't seen him yet. He was listed as a dual-threat guy, which most of us favor for the college game.  I don't think it signals much that Daniels played this season and Patu didn't.  Patu was always listed second on the depth chart, for whatever it's worth, but McKee was healthy enough to play every down (somewhat amazingly considering the beating he took in games like UW).  

Regardless, we do want to take a QB from the portal if one is available to us - for sure.
