I forget what it was (running up the score maybe) but TW did something toward Stanford when he was at ND that really earned the enmity of Stanford fans.

Here's what it was:  Last game of the 2003 season, in the Old Lady.  Final score was 57-7.  TW called for a fake punt in the third quarter, already up by a humongous margin.
Didn't bother me, because I had left long before and I heard it on the radio going north on 280.

The fake punt by Notre Dame came late in the 4th quarter, with less than 5 minutes remaining in the game. Notre Dame was leading 57-7 at the time. Notre Dame was facing 4th and 17 at the 50 yard line. The ND punter threw a pass, which was complete. The play gained only 14 yards, so the ball was turned over on downs. Stanford fans expressed their displeasure with Willingham.
