I went to see them live against SDSU with free tickets and I watched them on TV once after that. That was enough to see that this team isn't materially different from every other Haase team.
The longer this coach hangs around, the less seriously anyone should take the position that this A.D. is serious about the "prominence" of MBB -- and why I hope to hell his role in replacing Shaw is simply to rubber stamp what knowledgeable people recommend (assuming that the search committee can be knowledgeable). Haase "has" to be one of the poorest gets a Stanford team has ever gotten.
Haase was good hire coming in. He'd taken a mid-major team from oblivion to a NCAA berth in four seasons and there was every reason to believe he could do the same at Stanford. It didn't work out that way.
Much as I won't blame Muir at all for the hire, I will blast him for not firing him at least a year ago if not two years ago.
