Sorry to pick on Lex but he did use the term "film."

Bill Walsh talked the NFL out of using B&W film for coaching purposes in the 80's. The teams went to Betacam SP, an NTSC format and non-linear editing which among other things made game content available on flights home. With the change the term "film" should have been buried with the teams' 16mm gear.

Now the league shoots digital media almost exclusively with German Arriflex Amira cameras. Videotape has been buried along with the teams Sony and Panasonic HD equipment.

It kills me when a coach says. "We'll look at the film and make a decision."

It's Digital Media baby. Not film, not tape but little cards as thin as a cracker.
