Here I agree with you, though I am a bit less worried than you are.  Right now, an army of people like Bik are scrutinizing every figure in his 250+ articles, so if this was anything systematic, then we will know about it.  The issue is whether it becomes a greater source of embarrassment to the University because the school whitewashes the report, and then new allegations emerge.
