Actually the best player at Sac State is their RB.  He didn’t do much against Richmond but he’s outstanding

I haven't seen anything that says Roman is a no go.  A few years ago one of these hot shot young coaches would probably grab the Stanford job.  Now they have no idea how the portal will work or whether they can expect to get any help from it, plus our NIL situation seems hardly a barn burner.  I can see lot of young guys thinking that Stanford job is now too difficult and they will be better off by waiting for a school with money, a big NIL and no portal problems to come calling.
Roman on the other hand can look at this as his last hurrah, come to Stanford, make say 4,000,000 a year for 5 years and then if he gets fired or wants to leave he will have a fair amount of money socked away if he gets any sort of professional financial guidance.

There is more inside information posted elsewhere than on this site. Some folks who usually have good sources say Roman got a call yesterday morning that it wasn't him. The same is true for several other candidates.
