I don't agree with that philosophy, but I can see his reason to play your core players so as to get game-time experience as much as possible. Where I think we Cardboard fans differ from him, is that we weigh the issues of risk to the core players and unfairness to the bench players more highly than he does. He probably also thinks the mental stress he puts on them is a good philosophy for his goals.
