I can see some logic; you don't want to be in a position where you have to shorten your bench because it is a tight game, but your starters are not in shape to play a full 40 minutes.  That may have hurt us in the game against South Carolina, as our starters were used to playing under 20 minutes in the four or five blowouts that preceded it.

That being said, I am glad that we get to see 10+ players get substantial number of minutes in our games.
