Garrett took over a 1-7 Cowboys team, went 5-3 the rest of the way, went 8-8 for three straight seasons, then went 12-4, 4-12 and 13-3. He then went 9-7 and 10-6, got fired after 8-8. His replacement , Mike McCarthy, went 6-10.
I suspect Garrett would do very well at Stanford. He played QB at Princeton, then Columbia (his dad coached there), then returned to Princeton when his dad got fired.
