I wonder what the Niners will do if they win the Super Bowl with Purdy as QB?  Do they get rid of Trey Lance? Do they try to re-sign Garoppolo? Give Purdy a big contract extension?

Personally, I don't think they re-sign Garoppolo as anything but a backup. Too fragile and he'll be 32 next year.  Might be interesting to keep Purdy as a starter, sign Garoppolo as a backup, and trade Trey Lance for two first round picks, if they can get it. Purdy's current contract tops out at $1.1 million in 2025.

Right now, they have just over $5 mms. in cap space. Garoppolo's hit is $34.9 mms.  Once he comes off and either departs or re-ups at a smaller number, that will give the 49ers some breathing room.
