Lynchahans ability to waste first round picks is matched only their ability to draft first round talents in 5th-7th rounds.
Didn’t miss on Bosa. They have assembled a team that may have more overall talent and depth then any team in NFL. Imagine this team with a Mahomes or Allen or Hurts.
Shanahan should be COY. Imagine him doing this without McDaniel…..
interesting stat. For his career CMac averages 114 yards from scrimmage a game. That is 4th in NFL history, behind some guy named Brown, Terrell Davis and Barry Sanders.
Bubba Paris was talking post game about him. Not that fast, not that big, all intangibles. Bubba obviously hasn’t watched him much……

First Jimmy gets hurt, then Lance and then Purdy is questionable leaving an old traveler the option.
So... there is going to be some demand for Jimmy. You could roll the dice and sign him and when the QB’s start getting hurt in 2023 trade one of your three at a premium to a desperate team.
The cap is going way up next year.
Going to be very interesting. Playoffs are a different animal. Purdy has shown well. But not ready to annoint him yet. What this means is they will have two young QBs next year. Don’t know what JG will do. But I suspect he will look to sign multi year deal somewhere. There are a lot of teams that need a solid QB.
Agreed. Niners would love to have Jimmy to compete with lance and Purdy, but realistically won’t want to spend the $$$, and Jimmy will want a situation where he’s the anointed starter (Carolina?)
We enter the year with lance and Purdy in competition and one will win. Interesting case of tangibles vs intangibles. I agree that Lance probably doesn’t have the trade value to make it worth our while to ship him out, and as this year showed you can’t have too many decent QBs. It will also be nice having a QB room with 2 cheap rookies given the pending Bosa and Aiyuk extensions. We definitely extend Bosa (expect around 30 mil AAV, 80 guaranteed). Not sure if we pay top dollar for Aiyuk.
Also don’t get me wrong. I’m a big Lynchahan fan. As you say they’ve assembled a very highly talented roster through smart drafting and signing. They’ve found an insane amount of value and top end talent in the back half of the draft. Just kinda funny that comes in spite of a pretty poor record with first round picks, where usually said talent comes from.
