Bubba Paris was talking post game about him. Not that fast, not that big, all intangibles. Bubba obviously hasn’t watched him much……
I think ShanaLynch has done an excellent job drafting. Foster was a terrific pick, just a horrible human being. McGinchey wasn't a bad pick at all. Solomon Thomas a miss. Bosa and Samuel both were fantastic selections. Kinlaw perpetually hurt. Last year's draft was basically upside down. Elijah Mitchell is superb, Hufanga among the best safeties in the NFC, Lenoir is coming on, Moore is a decent tackle, Thomas is an okay DB (started out pretty good), Sermon didn't have what it takes, Banks has been having an excellent second year, and Trey Lance...who knows yet? As for this year's rookies, Jackson has done very, very well, as has Burford and Purdy. None of the others have made a dent...Womack was doing well until he got hurt. UDFA Mason has done well running.
I think Purdy will do very well in the playoffs. BTW, I definitely see why he dropped to the seventh round. His arm is average at best, he sprays it on occasion, he's low on most measurables. But he's stratospherically high on intangibles, good leader, works very hard, very smart, he's nimble and knows how to use his legs. Jury's out as to whether he's durable. And like Fred Warner's said, he's gone up against the best defense in the NFL for 14 weeks now, and he does it the right way; e.g., if a defender gets to him, he treats it like a sack. Add in Shanahan's genius, the best defense in football; McCaffrey, Samuel, Jennings, Aiyuk, Samuel, Mason and a pretty decent line...He'll do well.
Be curious to see if Garoppolo gets a multi year deal. He's sure getting hurt a lot, and he'll be 32 next year. Can't really throw to the sidelines any more. Good clubhouse guy. People still want him for multiple years as a starter? Maybe.
