Why Lance over Purdy?

I am tired of watching QB’s who can’t throw a deep pass accurately.

Purdy is a great spot guy but making him a regular is just continuing the Garappolo era with a different name.  

Lance was brought in because he can pass the ball effectively and is mobile.  He is the guy I want behind center.

I have no idea what Lance can  do. Frankly nobody does. Purdy has played very well in 2 1/2 games. But we’ve seen this kind of thing before. Maybe he can  sustain it, maybe he can’t. So, I’m not ready to make any judgments. I will say this however, Purdy is very different from Garoppolo. Much more mobile. Much more able to make plays when things break down.

I love watching quarterbacks with cannons. I was a h.u.g.e. John Elway fan. But if you look at things honestly, having a cannon  is down the list of importance for playing the position. Particularly today. In terms of skills - Accuracy is No 1.   Mobility 2. Arm strength a distant third. Particularly in the 49ers scheme. Hell they rarely  pass more than 15 yards downfield. They’re passing game is all about yards after catch.  Accuracy being the key.
