SF now a place for damaged goods to sign, rehabilitate and then make their money elsewhere.  One and done. Moneyball West. 

I may have to reconsider my Giants fandom. This approach is not something I want to support in any way.

I'm a fan for the Giants in the same way that I'm a fan of Stanford sports: irregardless of the smart or stupid moves that the adminstrations make, both starting in the early 1970s.

I like the idea of the Conforto signing. Taylor Rogers, I'm not so sure. He was an All-Star in 2021, but last season he started giving up gopher balls. Still, he struck out 84 in 64.1 innings and he absolutely destroys left-handed hitters. He did great April through June, had a good August.

BTW, the Mets weren't the first team that Boras approached after the Giants questioned Correa's health. Boras contacted the Twins first, who said "yeah, we'd like to know more about this medical issue," at which point Boras went to the Mets.

Twins paused their Carlos Correa pursuit after deal with Giants evaporated - The Athletic

Rogers also pitched great at Oracle, a 0.00 ERA.

Last Correa comment/whine. (Well, except for replies….) All reports I’ve read indicate they used it to try to renegotiate. They are not stupid. They had to know that the second they opened that door, Cohen would step in. Plus Correa would, justifiably, not have a whole lot of warm and fuzzies for the organization. They had no chance. The second I saw that they canceled the presser I knew he was gone. It was obvious.

Cynically it looks like they cut the deal, then after they slept on it for a few days, reconsidered. And used the ‘14 injury as a way out. Which brings me back to risk aversion….
