Javon Kinlaw is not a pass rusher. He is a run stuffer, or more specifically, his job is to absorb double team blocks and hold his ground. He did that very well against the Commies. Some guys who play in the NFL need to consume massive calories and lift to maintain their weight and strength. Kinlaw is a naturally massive human, at 6-5 320, and most of it is lean muscle and bone, not fat. Sure would be nice to see him stay injury-free the remainder of this season. 

Purdy looked a little off in the first half, but that Jennings drop that led to pick was brutal. It could have been slightly more in front of him, but it was still a ball that he had room to run with if he hauled it in. Second half was more like it. I think we can put the "his arm isn't strong enough" talk about Purdy to bed. It's plenty strong enough. His accuracy is what matters most, and he has it in spades, from pocket, or on the move.

I hated the red zone play calling in the 4th quarter, but I LOVED the fact Shanahan thought better of kicking FG to go up by 13 and instead went for the first down on 4th down. I was screaming at my TV to go for it and was cursing the FG attempt, so was really happy to see him change his mind. Even if it failed, it was the right call to go for it!

Far too many yards allowed passing. If Ward wasn't out for a spell, McClaurin likely doesn't catch the long ball and the score is 37-13.  I've reached the point where giving up more than 17 is a disappointment with this year's defense, no matter what the offense does. 

Raiders and Cardinals will roll over for the Niners the last two weeks. The question is will the Niners play down to their level or keep raising their own?
