Yukon should forfeit their game, not postpone it. What fault is it of their opponents that Yukon can't field a team?

Not having to forfeit incentivizes a team with seven healthy scholarship players to decide they no longer have seven healthy players and must postpone, especially if it looks like they might have nine in a few weeks. And/or have an excuse to not have to play South Carolina in a few weeks.
