Mitchell inactive. That hurts. Going to be a question of how long CMac can go. Calf is tough in that it may tighten up. I expect we will see a fair amount of Sameuls at RB with CMac in slot.  

Mason is big. Tough inside runner. He may get some touches. But I don’t think he’s part of any pass game. And you always worry about a rookie who hasn’t carried the ball a whole lot and fumbles in a game like this.

Picking at things he could do better tells me more about the observer than the “observee”.  Warner is an idiot.  

Of course, Purdy’s coach has had much to do with his success.  Shanahan’s game plans are ideal for Purdy’s style of play.  I haven’t seen anything that Shanahan needs to “fix”.  

Everyone can improve. That includes Kyle Shanahan, his coaching staff, and Brock Purdy. Kurt Warner is illustrating how. It doesn't seem like his suggestions are very difficult to adopt.

Aren’t you the same person that proclaimed that Shanahan’s prior success was due largely to McDaniel?  

Warner was an excellent QB.  Don’t think he’s ever coached.  

Shanahan is probably the most innovative coach in the run game of anyone in the NFL.   He’s in his third Championship game in 4 years. And, remarkably for these times, he’s achieved that without an elite QB. Making him unique. 

This has been his best season.  No matter what happens today.  So, perhaps it’s not the best time to pick nits.

Watch the all-22 video and you can see Kurt Warner isn't pointing out anything cosmic that has some crazy degree of difficulty to do. 

I questioned the role McDaniel had in Shanahan's success, as I searched for answers why the Niners offense was struggling, when Miami's was humming along. I have never been as down on him as many Niners fans seem to be and recognize he is one of the best in the business. But that doesn't mean McDaniel couldn't have been providing something that it took Shanahan a while to adjust to not having, either.

You telling someone to lighten up is hilarious. I was responding to the Warner comment not the funny video that you posted. 

Your comment on McDaniel was significantly different than you now maintain. You did not “question his role”. You suggested McDaniel was the one behind Shanahans success. You also, btw, maintained that Shanahan needed a higher offensive coordinator because he couldn’t do it himself. But that’s OK.

What might help a little bit, is in addition to patting yourself on the  back, is if you could actually acknowledge when you are wrong. Instead of holding yourself out as the Oracle of truth.

In this era of, “commenting to stir up the masses” rather than “commenting to make a cogent point” has soured me on most commentary.  Instead of stating something that is thought-provoking, the tendency is now geared towards making controversial remarks only for the sake of generating waves of reaction. 

It is Cosellism taken to another level. My response - ignore the talking heads at ESPN (and elsewhere) who are more interested in shouting nonsense than making sensible observations.
